“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”  What excitement will fill our classroom as we anxiously await the birth of our Lord!  Our days will be spent learning about the birth of Jesus and practicing our skills with reindeer, angels and bells.  We will add the letters J, R, A, and B to our growing list of letters and letter sounds.  We will continue to practice our newest sight words: my and by as we are introduced to me and in.

December 9th is our Polar Express PJ Party from 5:30 -8.  We are looking forward to a fun evening experiencing the magic of the season.  Special thanks to the congregation of Trinity Church and to our staff for supporting this event. Space is still available – please see the sign up sheet in the hall.

A field trip has been planned for Friday, Dec. 16th at the Parish Resource Center located at 2160 Lincoln Highway East #18 Lancaster, PA.  Morning students will meet there at 9:30 and afternoon students at 12:30. The field trip will last approximately 2 hours and will include a storytime, games, stations and activities and a snack all about Christmas and Jesus’ birthday. There is no cost for this trip.  Information will be sent home separately.

We will also spend much of our time preparing for our Christmas Program which will be held on Monday, Dec. 19th at 6:30.  We will be joined by our PreK classmates to perform, “The Friendly Beasts” followed by cookies and fellowship.  Please let us know if your child will be participating as well as how many family members will be in attendance by signing up on the sheet in the hallway.  (you can also text or email your response)

We will have a combined class session that day to practice our program all together.  ALL students (morning and afternoon) are asked to come to school from 9-11:30 on Dec. 19th so that we may practice our performance as a whole group.  There will be no afternoon class. We will also be having a very special visitor that day from the North Pole.  (I would love to surprise the children, please let me know if you do not wish for your child to participate or if they have a fear)

A HUGE HEARTFELT THANK YOU to you all for your participation and support of our Fall Fundraisers – we have raised over $2700 to enrich our program, supplement spring field trips, contribute to our scholarship fund and purchase new equipment and supplies as well as tee shirts for our students and staff.

Finally, evaluations have been completed this month and a skills checklist will be sent home.  This checklist will indicate the skills your student has demonstrated thus far at school.

School will be closed from Dec. 22-Jan. 2.  We will resume class on Jan. 3, 2017.
